Speech and Language Therapists are often invited to attend a shared-client review meeting.
Each meeting may have a different aim, but all the people who attend the meeting will be part of the wider multidisciplinary team who all play a part in the care of a shared client.
For example, in the UK, a child identified as having additional educational needs may have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This plan outlines any special educational needs a child has, and the provision a local authority must put in place to help them. These plans, and the outlined provisions and progress, must be periodically reviewed - which includes a review from any Speech and Language Therapy provision stated in the plan. Of course, an EHCP review meeting is just one of the many types of review meetings that a Speech and Language Therapist may be invited to attend.
